G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

Seems pretty cool. They seem to be ripping off X-Men a little bit with the Joe costumes, though. But where is Storm Shadow's mask?

yeah, I SERIOUSLY hope these costumes are all from a special mission.

X-men was more than enough "colourful, different costumes are GAY" and with what looks like a PERFECT adaptation in the new Speed Racer movie I tend to view the "everything's gotta be black or it aint' cool anymore" mentality as pure stupid bullshit

hopefully the characters will have the same chummy relationships as all the folks on the recent Star Trek sequel-series and pretty much EVERY "crime show" on tv, which is to say they're all stupid fuckin assholes who I would probably be telling off after word number 3 or so escaped their serious-lookin stupid mouths

Isn't it funny that it's cool to knock the colourful uniforms as "SOO 80's" when the fuckin whole point of making a GI Joe movie should be a revival of SOMETHING THAT WAS POPULAR IN THE FUCKIN 80'S, jesus fuck, if you think the 80's were "gay" why the fuck are you mining the fuck outta properties from that era??

I HATE the way everything BUT Snake Eyes looks, and sadly I bet the "Darth Maul=Badass!!!" syndrome will make him shittier than anyone here would care to imagine

Just cos I gave x-men a bit of a pass (up til that fuckin silver dildo that was "juggerNOT") doesn't mean every classic property needs the EXACT SAME STUPID ASS TREATMENT

Fuck Emo-Joe :The Dark Soldiers Return, it's already sunk on style alone, cos with x-men I was there until it got silly, x-3 got so silly that the same costumes I'd been able to stomach so far just pissed me off with all that other shittiness it formed a doon-gestalt that drove me right the fuck away

you can see in the pics of stormshadow that he's got two different costumes at least - an all-white suit and his uniform, so it's pretty safe to say that there could be more than one costume for each character. also, there are all-black armored costumes and there are also white/black/gray cammo uniforms (displayed on covergirl the most, but also on flint) so i think the jury's still out on the all-black, all the time theme.

Those pics make it look like something between X-Men and the Matrix. Dennis Quaid's, Stormshadow and the Baroness' attires are about what I expected.

Are any of the Joes Jewish? From the cartoon? or the Comics? or their bio cards?

Are there any G.I.Jews?

Off the top of my head, I know Clutch was. Or at least his grandmother was a Jew in a concentration camp, so I'm assuming he is as well.

I vividly remember an issue of Special Missions where Clutch talked about how his grandmother had numbers tattooed on her arm that they never spoke about, and how she completely freaked out when she walked in on him watching Hogan's Heroes.

if it was his maternal grandmother, then yes. if not, we'd still be in the dark, as the jewish faith only considers the maternal side to "pass on" the "jewishness".

Which makes no sense in and of itself, as Judaism is a religion, not a race.
