Wolverine Origins #2 - Better than issue #1 but this Nuke guy is pretty lame. With the Steve Dillon pencils and the way he has been enhanced by scientists the guy reminds me too much of the Russian from The Punisher.

Daredevil #84 - Out a couple of weeks now, but I picked it up today. Damn, this comic is pretty well written. I may have to stick around for a while. And yes, that last page was really cool.

All-Star Batman #4 - Will have to wait until Friday...stupid UPS.

Nuke 1st appeared in Daredevil, when Frank Miller did his second stint on the book. I can't imagine anyone else making any sense of a psychopath like him, but I'm way more than willing to read Daniel Way giving it a try.

i figured it would come off as that... yeah, nuke can be an interesting character in the hands of the right guy, but i can see the comparison...

Holy shit! is it 2008? I ask because both AllStar Batman AND Superman/Batman came out this week....here's what I got.

52. Lesbian love between Renee Montoya and....mmm...undressed girls...

All Star batman & Robin 4. Sucktastic.

Captain America 18. Rolling right along as one of the best books month to month. I'm kinda hoping USAgent shows up eventually. i want to see Bru's take on him.

Moon Knight 2. Soooo.. A guy brings Marc his presciption..
...okaaayy...Oh the ripping off Roaul Bushman's face doesn't count since that was like a flashback.

Superman/Batman 25. Dear god this book is so late and so confusing that even if i went back and reread it from the beginning, i would still be confused. And isn ext issues Superboy/Robin story even still relevant seeing as how the boy of steel is DEAD?

Wolvie:Origins 2. Logan looks just like Steve Dillon's Frank Castle except with sideburns. i need more grit in this supposedly gritty book. What's Texiera doing?

X-Men 186. Dear god, make it stop. Make the whole Mutant X-Universe not suck anymore. Please?

All in all a fairly crappy week, considering.

The right artist for Origins would be that cat who's doing Moon Knight right now. Fuck, that's good art. I do like Steve Dillon though, ever since he was drawing Preacher... and Jesse Custer looked exactly like his girlfriend, Rose. ALL of his human faces have "that look" about them.

Star Wars: KOTOR #5 - God, I can't wait until this arc is over, so I can stop buying this turd. Why don't I just stop? No idea...morbid curiosity perhaps?

Daredevil #85 - Glad you kids got me buying this one. Another great issue. But Frank Castle surrounded by criminals and none of them died? WTF? That's like putting Slicker's Mom in the Hostess factory and having her leave it intact.

The Punisher: The Tyger - Awesome. Ennis proves again that he is a God.
But imagine the pitch for this one:
Garth Ennis: "I have an idea for a new story about Frank Castle when he was younger."
Joe Quesada: "Ok, cool. How young are we talking?"
Garth Ennis: "Well, he'll be a 10-year-old boy."
Joe Q: "..."

I skipped Tyger, dammit. Because the last one shot was MK and sucked kinda.

A small week for me, thank goodness with the move and all.

52 week four. I'm sure this whole series will make much more sense when read in large chunks.

Amazing Spider Man. This was a very emotional issue for me. I loved Aunt May's speech abour responsibility. And then her catching him moments before he's going to run away and handing him the original costume. Simply moving. JMS redeems himself slightly.

Hulk. Hulk versus Silver Surfer. Did anyone else feel the ground shake when Hulk double fisted slammed Norrin into the ground? And the look of rage in his eyes as he was about to finish him off and was stopped by the rock guy. oooooohhh. Wicked.

Transformers. Megatron blowing a hole right through Skywarp and then pummeling Blitzwing to death proves this ain't yo pappy's TF comic. Optimus shows up next month!

Secret Six. A holdover from last week, but it was so slow I grabbed it. Much better than the Checkmate crap. These guys are so amoral it's tough to root for them, which makes the book so exciting and good. Especially the creepy ragdoll guy. Kissing his sister indeed....

Ever since Ennis started doing the Punisher, nobody else seems to grasp the character as well as him, IMO.

This week:
The Punisher #34 - Baracuda part 4. Violence, cussin', and boobies. Awesome.

Civil War: Frontline #1 - Not bad. Wasn't expecting much though. But I don't see why the revelations in this comic couldn't have been put into Civil War (<b>SPOILERS</b>) like, Speedball surviving and Tony Stark revealing his identity, which I thought already was public knowledge in the Marvel U.

Star Wars: Legacy #0 - Despite hating most EU, I dug Ostrander and Duursema on Republic so I have some hopes this series will be readable. They have really thought this future Star Wars universe out. New versions of the Stormtrooper, Star Destoyer, X-Wing, and TIE Fighter, which look like they could be evolved verions of the OT versions.
We've all been hearing about Cade Skywalker, but there is another, Cade's father, Kol Skywalker. Kinda cool to see a Zeltron from the old Marvel Star Wars days (and they made an appe)arance or two in Republic. And I knew that they'd somehow tie at least one older character they created into this new series, but I expected it to have the last name of Vos. Instead, we get Chak, the Wookie last seen in the final story arc of Republic.
Things I'm not so sure about:
Six Darths shown in this preview. Six? WTF? I still don't see why the Sith are needed.
It almost seems as if you need to keep up on the post-Jedi EU carp, with the numerous mentions of the Yuuzhan Vong and other wars that may or may not have happened yet in the "current" EU.

Got mine today from the last couple of weeks:

FF: Death in the Family 1 shot
Civil War Frontline 1
Amazing 53whatever
Friendly Neighborhood 9
Sensational 26
Hulk
Daredevil

Haven't read anything yet as I've been busy reading the first 20 issues of X-Men thanks to Marvel Masterworks. Some of that old shit isn't all that great, y'know?

I agree. With the exception of a very few characters, the entirety of Spidey's "Universe" is set up in the first 35 issues (by Ditko).
