Re: Football
I've seen recent pictures of Tom Petty, so I wasn't suprised. What did bother me is that it looked like the lead guitarist had dreads.

Re: Football
I was kinda hoping Tom Petty would've whipped his cock out to tell the NFL "Fuck you" for playing it safe (and boring) since Janet's titty.

Have you ever seen Tom Petty before? He's never exactly been a handsome man.

Funny how almost everyone is a Giants fan after the game...

Re: Football
I thought it was a pretty boring game too vyn, with exception to the 4th quarter.
No shit RB, I can't wait to see all the "fans" come into my store donning their brand new NY Giants gear.
Happens every year, after a major sporting event.

They smelled of moss in your hand. Polished and muscular and torsional. On their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps and mazes. Of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again. In the deep glens where they lived all things were older than man and they hummed of mystery."

Re: Football
I wasn't a Giants fan, but I figured I had to pick someone, and I don't like the idea of an undefeated team. Especially when the Cowboys won't get the credit they deserve for being altruistic and allowing others to win despite their obviously superior abilities.

After the Wings-Ducks game I turned on the Pro Bowl. The band for the half time show was Lifehouse performing "Hanging by a moment". You'd think they could do better. At least there were some smoking hot cheerleaders shakin' their stuff as part of the show.

Re: Football
Looks like some folks in NYC had some extra time and wanted to express their displeasure with some of the the Patriots' activities.

Re: Football
So far this off season, the Bills have signed LB Kawika Mitchell and DT Spencer Johnson. They traded one of their 3rd round picks and a 5th round pick to Jacksonville for DT Marcus Stroud. Now, there are reports they signed WR Bryant Johnson and they have TE Ben Troupe coming to visit tomorrow. The Pats have actually lost a few players. I'm actually feeling optimistic about the Bills this year, and we haven't even got to the Draft yet.

Broncos WR Marshall’s arm injury to sideline him up to 4 mon
Code: Select all
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP)—Brandon Marshall could miss up to four months of offseason preparations after slicing his right forearm in a freak accident.
The Denver Broncos made their first public comments Tuesday on their star receiver’s injury. After initially downplaying the injury that required surgery, Marshall has acknowledged it was the result of horseplay with family members and a misplaced fast-food bag. He said he slipped on the bag Saturday while wrestling with family members at a Florida resort and put his right arm through a home entertainment center.
In a statement, Broncos head athletic trainer Steve Antonopulos confirmed reports Marshall “sustained right forearm lacerations to one artery, one vein, one nerve, two tendons and three muscles.”
“All have been repaired, and his right forearm and elbow will be immobilized for six weeks,” Antonopulos said. “Rehabilitation will begin in six weeks. Full recovery is expected to take three to four months.”
That means Marshall might be ready to resume football activities in time for the start of training camp in late July.
The third-year pro has missed significant portions of training camp in his two years in the NFL, although being sidelined last summer with a leg injury didn’t adversely affect him during his breakout 2007 season.
Marshall, a fourth-round draft choice in 2006 out of Central Florida, blossomed into the Broncos’ best receiver last year, catching 102 passes for 1,325 yards and seven touchdowns. His emergence as Jay Cutler’s primary target facilitated the recent release of disgruntled wide receiver Javon Walker, who signed with Oakland.
“We know what he means to this team and we are going to need him,” cornerback Champ Bailey said. “I just hope we do everything in our power as a team to get him back healthy and ready for the season.”
Cutler was scheduled to speak with reporters Tuesday, the second day of the Broncos’ offseason strength and conditioning program, but that was postponed.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Bryant Gumbel has given up his role as an NFL Network play-by-play announcer after two seasons.
The NFL Network said Friday it was looking for a new play-by-play announcer to work with Cris Collinsworth on the network's Thursday and Saturday night games.

"I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to call NFL Network games the past two years, which was a new experience for me," Gumbel said in a statement. "But we've agreed that we'd all be better served going in different directions."
Glad he is gone.

How did Mike Vanderjagt go from being one of the best kickers in the NFL to having to sign in the CFL?
