Lolwhut?? Now James Robinson has abruptly left DC Comics and his writing gig on the Earth 2 book. I always thought Robinson was one of DC's Golden Boys alongside Johns, Snyder and Lemire.

I'm losing count. How many high profile writers have now left DC since the Reboot?

Who's left?

No, seriously.

Obviously, Harass, Lee, and Johns are still around.

I suspect Snyder would only leave if it jeopardized American Vampire somehow. Still, I could see him leaving that behind, too, if they screwed him badly enough.

Harass is blowing Lobdell, so he's there for the duration. Same with Nicieza, but that's only a handjob.

Then there's Giffen. When Giffen bails from DC, you know something is severely fucked. (Not that we don't know that already, but that would have to be the big "holy fucking shit" moment from the entire industry.) He seems to be pretty ambivalent to editorial interference, so it wouldn't surprise me if he'd stick around forever. But you never know....

They've still got a sizable stable of writers. Oddly, I don't think Nicieza is one of them. And Giffen only has one book. Not counting He-Man.

Sure, there are some old timers chugging away on one book. Jim Starlin, Paul Levitz, Greg Hurwitz, Peter Tomasi etc.
And Lemire, Lobdell, and Johns each have three or more(with more on the way I'm sure). Johns seems to leapfrog to whichever title needs a sales boost.
Snyder, Simone, and the Gray/Palmiotti team each have a couple books.
And guys like Azzarello, Manapul, JH Williams, Kyle Higgins, Sterling Gates and others each have a book. For now. I doubt if Batwoman got cancelled JH Williams would bother with something new. That books been his baby since the Detective Comics run. Same for Azarello on Wonder Woman. He pretty much gets left alone on that book.
But after you pare away Harras' 90s cronies like Lobdell and Nocenti, there are plenty of names I don't recognize as having written anything for the Big 2 until AFTER DCs reboot.
Michael Alan Nelson? Justin Jordan? Ales Kot? Ray Fawkes? Christy Marx? Robert Venditti? James Tynion? Who are they?

Hey now. Gail Simone and Ann Nocenti are also people with boobs. Nocenti's are probably sagging at this point though.
And let us not forget Diane Nelson, who is in charge of the entire train wreck. Her boobs are the bosses of Didio, Harras, Johns, and Lee.

They've got a "villain month" coming (September?). All the covers that month are lenticular, with each villain moving very slightly back and forth. And they all cost a buck extra.

Hey, DC! 1990 Marvel called! What? You think they want their moronic cover gimmicks back? Well, that too, but they're more annoyed that, of all the things you've swiped from them, you had to send back Liefeld.

It's a Gimmick Month! Villains' Month! Complete with GIMMICK COVERS in the form of 3D Lenticular covers on every book! Smell 90s to ya?

Yeah, that's the scent of week old unwashed Bob Harras after he ran a marathon.

And, holy fuck, that Creeper redesign they've got looks like utter shit. Not to mention, uh, isn't it kinda shitty to take a longstanding hero and make him a shit villain just because? (Not saying it's not been done before, but it's shitty.)

Catwoman is in that gallery. How does that work? Is she going to have her own normal title that month?

She does have her own title.

Yeah, but if they're pre-empting the normal titles for "villain titles," and Catwoman is shown as one of those villains... see what I'm getting at? Will Catwoman continue as if this isn't going on, or will she take over someone else's book, likely a Bat-book (and, in turn, have hers taken over by a different someone else)? Either way, it's just a bit weird. They want her portrayed as a hero... except when it's more convenient to show her as a villain. They've gotten worse than Marvel was with Venom in the 90s with that asinine "Lethal Protector (Who Still Wants to Eat Spider-Man's Brain)" bullshit.

Maybe Selina has to to fight herself by facing her inner turmoil and battling her personal demons.

Or some stupid bullshit.

Also, Catwoman just got shot between the eyes over in Justice League, so maybe there's a new evil Catwoman. Or maybe the impostor Catwoman got shot. Or maybe there's like 4 Catwomen running around and the editors cannae be bothered to keep them straight.

I also just noticed all those issues are 'point one' issues. Which DC was giving Marvel shit about doing last year. Hypocrites.

The Two-Face and Deadshot are epic in their laziness. Gotta love how the background shifts slightly, but the bullets and coin don't.

Bwah hah hah!! What the fuck--is that Deadshot's costume now? Goddamn that's an asshole puckering design. Are DC editors just having contests on how shitty they can make things?

And did Batman lose his lower leg in Afghanistan?

Why is the Joker's face back to normal on the cover of the Batman issue?

And, back to these two, why is the scratched-out title on the Two-Face comic "Batman and Robin"? I thought it had dropped the "Robin" a few months ago... or did they just fuck up and confirm he'll have a replacement Robin by September?
