My 22 year old son’s favorite movie is RoTS. So he came into town for the weekend and we went to see the 20th Anniversary rerelease on the big screen.
I hadn’t seen it in the theatre since it came out, so it was a pleasure getting to rewatch it with him. He was only 3 when it came out and didn’t see it in theaters.

Star Wars plays sooooo much better on a big screen. I am jaded as fuck and I got goosebumps when ObiWan and Anakin light their sabers up for their battle on Mustafar.
It was a fun experience.

Just finished Andor. Heavy stuff.

I refuse to acknowledge that between Kleya, Vel, Wilmon, and Mon there’s not enough story to do a spinoff series set between ANH and ESB.
Or a Rogue II movie about all the dead Bothans and the second DS plans.

My daughter and I rewatched the sequel trilogy over the past week.
We muscled our way thru Rise tonight, rage laughing at the plot holes. When we finished, she made this meme specifically in response.

Attack of the Clones danced a jig when The Rise of Skywalker came out.

The Force Awakens was decent. I didn't like it the first time, but it's grown on me. The Last Jedi, controversial as it is, at least tries to do something, and is one of the best SW films from a technical standpoint.

The Rise of Skywalker is just ass. And everything I read about the canceled Duel of the Fates movie makes me weep that we didn't get that instead.

I'll take The Rise of Skywalker over The Last Jedi every fucking day.
Episode 9 was a no-win situation.
It was damage control that needed to be 6 hours long to maybe fully right the ship while attempting to bring the Skywalker saga to a close.

While watching Rise I realized it has risen to the level of Spider-Man 3 and Batman&Robin as movies I loathe.

The entire sequel trilogy needs to be mulligan’d.

Spider-Man 3 is so goddamned frustrating. All the parts of it, they should have added up to a great film.

I was rummaging thru boxes of stuff in my basement and found a bunch of old SW calendars from the late 90s/early 2000s.
But I also found a set of 11x20 Lobby Cards from ESB. I have no recollection of how I acquired them. I put them back in the box so I can promptly forget about them and rediscover them in another 5-10 years…

If you had to boil your SW fandom down to one single specific image, one single piece of iconography, what would it be?
A lightsaber? The yellow SW logo itself? Artoo or some other droid? A spaceship? A Podracer? Lando’s smirk? Yoda? The Imperial gear logo or the Alliance phoenix/bird logo? A rancor? Vader or Fett or a Stormtrooper? Or any character from the most pertinent to the most obscure? What immediately pops in your head? Or after thoughtful and careful consideration, what say you?

I’m curious to hear from you all what your brain distills the entirety of your lifelong fandom down into one specific idea or image above all others.

Tough question. Either R2-D2 or the Millennium Falcon. R2 symbolizes all of the advanced technology. The Falcon because it wouldn't be Star Wars without spaceships.

At one point I may have said the Jedi, but as they made the prequels and shows like The Acolyte, the Jedi are just as dumb and/or corrupt as anyone else in the galaxy.

honestly, when i think of Star Wars, it's one of these images of Vader in Bespin.

Two things that jumped out at me hard: the Amani emerging from the water, about to make someone's day really, really fucking bad and Zeb absolutely beating the shit out of someone in a quick shot that shows why he was one of the Lassat Honor Guard.

Also the poster shows the Hutt Twins from TBOBF, and Embo is supposedly in this, apparently kidnapping Rotta again (poor guy, must be Tuesday), so I guess the Twins are trying to consolidate their power after being whooped by Boba?

I read something about the trailer a little while ago. The hulked out Hutt is supposed to be Jabba's son, who is voiced by Jeremy Allen White. Apparently he has grown over 30 years.


Thanks for pointing out the Amani. I missed it the first time. Had to watch it a couple times before I realized that was Zeb.

I wonder if Sigourney Weaver is some sort of replacement for Carl Weathers.
