I'm not sure what is more impressive, the fact that they are finally doing the whole cantina, or that they are making the Tonnika Sisters. No way in hell I'm paying $400 for it.

It might sound like a nitpick, but I'm fucking annoyed that their press release says Arleil Schous had appearances cut from the Special Edition.

He didn't. He's in one shot, that's still there. Lak Sivrak was cut. They look similar, but not the same character.

Again, it seems trivial... until you consider they have the license and are charging a car payment for this figure. Get it right! It's literally your job.

No foot pegs? You know your figures aren’t gonna sit right on those stool. They’ll fall off, and take out the figure next to them, and you’ll get a domino effect and then spend the next two hours painstakingly re-setting it all up.

It does look pretty sweet though.

I still haven’t put together my Lego Cantina set.

Love the cantina but can't spend the money. I can only hope the Tonnikas & the presumably upcoming Hammerhead figure will see a secondary release like Yak Face did. Still waiting on General Merrick from Rogue One though, so it's certainly not guaranteed.

More of a "who, what, when, where & why of selling" post, but I'm currently working out a deal to move all of my original, loose, POTF figures to a local reseller. Much in the vein of ditching my expensive x-men first, if I can sell these I think I have the emotional resilience to sell anything.

Pre-ordered the Jabba the Hutt set from Hasbropulse - not because I need another Jabba, but because i need a recarded 8D8 figure for my updated vintage cards collection. The next time one of you meet me person, I'll need a shot in the nuts.

Is that Jabba set the same size as the one Walmart had several years ago, and would it fit into the Boba Fett Throne room? Also, I wonder why they never re-released the BG-J38 on a vintage card.

And for anarky...I was at an outlet mall this weekend and there was a toy store that had the Black Series Jaxxon. I'm assuming you already have it, but it was $28.

Jaxxon is starting to show up at Ollie's for $10-12.

I've seen pictures of Ollie's Star Wars sections on Reddit. It is pretty impressive, but there isn't anything like that out here. I'm 861 miles from the nearest Ollie's it Texas, and last I checked, anarky lives about 300 miles southwest of me. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't even know who Jaxxon (or Teek) was.

All I know is there needs to be a story where Jaxxon, Hondo, and Aphra are forced to work together.

And that everything I read about Ollie's makes me weep. Seriously. They seem to have literally everything I've ever collected at 1/10th retail. There are a few waves of Transformers I never saw and went for crazy markups from the beginning, which didn't even wind up at Ross, but were apparently plentiful there. Of course, I didn't learn this until much later and they were long gone and no one I asked could find them. I'll never have all the IDW Scavengers because Hasbro proved years ago they hate us giving them money.

It looks to be the same size as the Walmart one from 2010 & does not come with the dais. It has a good few other accessories. I'll compare Hutts when he gets here & figure out how much of the stuff from this package I can let go to recoup some of the funds. I'm sure either would fit in the Throne Room (but I did not purchase that set & thus will never do it with my own toys to confirm).

In my experience, Ollie's is 90% junk clearance.
When it comes to toys, it's hit and miss. My Ollie's had been sitting on Dengar, Skiff Lando, and Palpatine rereleases along with Endor Leia for a while.
Marvel Legends has been Dr Strange 2 and Eternals mostly.
Other stuff trickles in occasionally.

Besides toys, books and comic trades are pretty good. Some hidden gems within the junk or volume 2 (and higher) of a series.

I don't get there a ton, but if anyone is looking for anything in particular, let me know, and I'll check next time I'm there.

The deal for my POTF figures has been completed. My bank account is happy & I am not sad. Yet, anyhow.

Jabba showed up. Here's my breakdown to help you decide if you need him or not.

Jabba himself - smaller than the wal-mart version & a bit harder. I worry the arms will break if I try to release the articulation at all. I don't like the paint details or eyes as much. Verdict - stick with Wal Mart Jabba.

Dais - it DID come with a dais after all. Same dimensions as the WM version but the decorative heads have been retooled a bit for whatever reason. This one comes with soft goods pillows & hides to decorate with, as well as cups & food plates... and a little black frog type thing for Jabba to slurp back. The WM version had some plastic pillows, but those also looked pretty good. Verdict - not enough of an improvement to be worth the extra money in my opinion, WM Jabba still winning - but the accessories here are pretty good. They made an effort.

Salacious Crumb - the new one comes on a little card & is likely a bit more screen accurate. He's the lankiest crumb to date - long, dangly legs & arms resemble Dobby almost as much as they do Crumb. The new Crumb is an improvement, so TVC wins in this category.

8D8 - well the old one didn't come with 8D8 so this is a clear win for TVC.... that being said, in comparing him to the very old POTF2 figure from like 1996 or 1997... there wasn't a hell of a lot of room for improvement. The old one still holds up fine if we're being honest.

Final verdict - it's close, but I'm going to wind up selling the new Jabba & his dais to recoup some of the money spent on this set. Keep your old WM Jabba & figure out a way to acquire 8D8 if you need it for your set.

Thanks for the review. I'll stick with the one from Walmart. Seeing the Cantina for $400 almost makes Jabba's Boba Fett's throne room for $200 seem reasonable. Or, since my oldest daughter is half way through her masters degree in architecture and has had to build tons of models for her classes, maybe I can talk her into making Jabba's throne room for me.

I got an email from my local toy store. Fami Taylor (Oola) is going to be there signing autographs Saturday. They didn't put anything in the email or on their website about prices. I doubt I'll go.
