In my mind Morrison is writing a quintessential Superman story. It's kinda corny and strattles that quasi futuristic optimism of old 50's sci-fi movies. But that's what Superman is. And each issue is chockablock full of action and interaction. You can't get comfortable with any one thing in the book before Morrison and Quitely have moved onto something else just as bright and engaging. I can quite literally read the book right after I just read it and enjoy it just as much the second time.
Batman on the other hand, despite brilliant Jim Lee art, hasn't even barely started a story before detouring into an unnecessary filler issue about Black Canary of all people. And what story there has been revolves around a cackling psychotic billionaire whose only hobby near as I can tell is killing police officers and verbally abusing recently orphaned youngsters. This is NOT the brilliant determined detective thats been represented for the last 70 years. It's a loony man. I seriously think Frank Miller is pulling a gigantic fast one on the DC editorial staff for some imagined slight of years past.

I really don't understand what's going on in Batman. The books are coming out SO infrequently that it's impossible, When Batman 4 comes out, I'm either going to have to go and re-read 1-3, or else read #4 without knowing what's happened. I'm planning on going with option 2 at this point, because one thing I DO remember about 1-3 is that nothing INTERESTING has happened. Come on, Frank, give us something! It's BATMAN for fuck's sake!!!!

Issue #4 was pretty flat. The only good part is that it didn't take very long to read - checking out the foldout took me about 33&% of the total 6 minutes I spent on it. Not my favorite. What are the chances that I'm going to drop ANY Frank Miller book though... especially Batman? Slim to none. Fuck you DC, you're stealing my money by not making this book more interesting.

But seriously, is it me or has about 20 minutes elapsed since the beginning of the first issue. Basically its a story arc about how long it takes to drive from Gotham to the fucking Batcave and how big of a douche Batman can be to a newly orphaned Dick on the way. jeesus.
AS Superman still definitely rocks though.
AS Wonder Woman by Adam Hughes is on the way.
And also (WTF??) AS Bat-Girl??!? Uhmmm...why not AS Animal Man while your at it? Perhaps a fresh stick to scape the barrel with? Hmmm?

I'm suprised you refer to your straw wrapper as "Big" and "Black". The only time its ever been black was when you fucked that Magic Marker cap back in 9th grade.
My kitten has a bigger pecker than you. Quit trying to compensate.
