See this is why the line keeps having trouble, great ideas like that get passed over and we just get more and more Vaders and clones

If I'd known you wanted one, I could've gotten it. I might possibly still be able to, but it'd be a real long shot. That was at least a year ago that it came out.
Truth is, I didn't realize until looking at the comparison pics how "off" the color was.

It was actually a wide-release comic pack, not an exclusive. He came with some funky green Mandalorian guy, Fenn Shysa, who looks more like Woody Allen than a warrior.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Ah right. I vaguely remember that now.
I tried hard to ignore those dumb-ass comic packs.

Re: star wars
It was? I assumed it was a WM exclusive, since most of theirs are piece of shit repaints.
Speaking of which, has that one with the redneck Battle Droid actually seen wide release in most parts? One WM here had it, and doesn't anymore, and none of the others ever got it.

Re: star wars
Yeah, the Walmart-exclusive IG97/Rom Mohc pack hit fairly heavily here. I haven't been to many stores lately so I'm not sure if it's still hanging around, but I wouldn't be surprised. Did you need one?

Re: star wars
I want one. Trouble is, I just want the IG-97. It really does look like the Battledroids' inbred cousin from West Virginia. I don't care much about the Mohc, especially with Hasbro going out of their way to make every permutation of the Darktrooper impossible to get. I'd say pass; the one figure isn't worth $15.

Re: star wars
Saw the new Legends on the blue cards at TRU. They also had the Jedi Starfighter and some other prequel vehicle. No Cloud Car or Snowspeeder. (Almost bought the new GI Joe Snowcat).

Re: star wars
Just a word about TRU prices - Vintage Collection figures are $9.99, Saga Legends and Clone Wars are $7.49, and new vehicles (Cloud Car, Snowspeeder, blue Fighter Tank repaint, Anakin's Starfighter repack) are $27.99. According to Target's DCPI codes, they're going to have Vintage figures for $7.99, Clone Wars for $7.99 (and I assume Legends will follow suit), and vehicles for $24.99. So TRU is slightly better on non-vintage figures, but shit on everything else. Though I'm sure the prices will drop once Target and Walmart start carrying the figures in August.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Re: star wars
I saw and passed on the whole line of Vintage. Well, first wave. $10 at TRU was steep. Also, I wasn't sure--is the new, improved Grievous the Greatest Hits, or wave 2 of Vintage?
Sale starts tomorrow for buy one, get one 50% off on pretty much everything Hasbro. I plan to stop back by the same TRU and maybe get the Vintage figures, as well as the Joe Snow Cat and HISS Mark Whatever.

I'm soooooo fucking behind. I haven't bought anything in months now and now they have all of this new shit coming out. I've seriously been considering renting a U-Haul and taking all of my shit to Toys For Tots.
Sweet berry wine!

"Greatest Hits" figures are the repacked ones on the Vintage Collection cards (which include 4-LOM, Sandtrooper, likely ROTS Obi-Wan, and Commander Cody).anarky wrote:I saw and passed on the whole line of Vintage. Saga Legends are the ones on the blue-and-black cards with orange accents that look similar to the new Clone Wars cards. The only realistic-line Grievous figure out now is the Saga Legends version, which is a repack of the 2006 TSC version, which was a repaint of the 2005 Sneak Preview version.
The Grievous you want (with the cape, split-apart arms, upgraded articulation, proper height, and new head) is coming in wave 2 of The Vintage Collection.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Thanks for the heads up about the prices JJL. Since they didn't have any I wanted, I didn't bother checking the price.

Re: star wars
Got all but the Vader, Fett, and 4-LOM, which I didn't want, and the Cloud Car Pilot, which I did, but ran into what may be the biggest fucking asshole scalper I've seen in my entire time as a collector.
Got there, and there was a man with his wife and a kid looking at the older figures. I started going through the Vintage figures. The other dude found whatever he was looking for and left. I've got Han, Dack, C-3PO, Dengar, and Leia in the cart, and start looking at two Lukes to see if I want one. Some other guy runs up, and, swear to God, while I'm turned toward my cart with the other figures and a toddler in it, he grabs all the remaining Vintage figures. All of them. As I turn back, I see two Cloud Car Pilots going into his cart, which already has two AT-ATs and the rest of the figures! I say, "Uh, excuse me." He ignores me. I make a comment about not having seen the Cloud Car Pilots (even though I had--fuck, I'm the one who'd pulled them both off the pegs and sat them on the shelf underneath so I could look at their paint!), and he ignores me again and walks off. As he's strolling off (missing the Cloud Car and Snowspeeder, which are with the GIJoes for some odd reason, and which he never noticed at all, leaving them for someone who might actually want them), I tell Anarky Jr that if she ever acts "like that jerk just did," I'll beat her ass.
(I keep the Luke--probably wouldn't have, but otherwise it was an odd number, and I couldn't take advantage of the sale.)
We look at some other stuff, and walk back by a couple of minutes later--he's returned at some point and replaced the Vaders, 4-LOMs, and a Leia on the pegs. Then an employee comes up with a box, followed by the douchebag, who's talking to her about how rare some of this stuff is. I ask if it's Star Wars; she says yes, but this other customer asked first, so he gets to look first. I say, "That's okay; I just need one figure, the Cloud Car Pilot." (I know she doesn't give a rat's ass, but the guy will know exactly what I'm talking about.) She opens it and walks off and he swoops in, again with ridiculous speed, and snatches everything except the Vaders, 4-LOMs, and Leias, then walks off himself. (It's really like all his masturbating in his parents' basement and swiping toys from out of other people's clutches has given him superhuman speed.) As he's leaving the aisle, I say loudly enough for him to hear, "Well, honey, toys are obviously more important to some people than others. I guess I'll get the Cloud Car Pilot at Target in a few weeks. I'm not paying some dickweed scalper who has nothing better to do than buy all the figures and AT-AT's in the store, and it's not like it won't be common in a couple of weeks." I was hoping he'd say something in return. Given the assholery the fatass, greasy motherfucker had already displayed, I seriously doubt he cares; he'll probably have to return almost all that shit in two weeks when he discovers no one wants to pay $30 for the figures.
But, yeah, anyhow, the Pilot is the one I could most live without anyway; I've got two of the one from 2004 or whenever. The new one would only be displayed outside the Cloud Car.
Which I passed on. I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on the Snowspeeder, and I know Target and WM will be cheaper than TRU for a single vehicle.
BTW, totally unrelated, the only WM that got the exclusive comic packs remodeled--or, rather, changed their layout--at some point in the past few weeks. The toy department went from five aisles to three. They had no comic packs, including the shit ton of Leia vs Xizors. Not sure if they were clearanced or just moved off the floor for now.
