Re: star wars
Found this list via RS. I assume you guys have already seen it.
The Vintage Collection Wave 3
1x Gamorrean Guard (21482)
1x Ackbar (21483)
1x Jedi Luke (21484)
1x Skiff Guard - Woof (21485)
1x R2 with Pop-up Lightsaber & Drink Tray (21486)
1x Rebel Commando (21487)
1x Yoda with Hover Chair (21481)
1x Wicket & Kneesaa (21488)
1x Rebel Pilot (Wedge) (21489)
1x Clone Trooper (20833)
1x Sandtrooper (20832)
1x Darth Vader (97580)
The Vintage Collection Wave 4
1x Zam Wessel (24989)
1x Obi-Wan (24990)
1x Peasant Anakin (24991)
1x Peasant Padme (24992)
1x Jango Fett (24993)
1x Kit Fisto (24988)
1x Mace Windu (24994)
1x Blue Senate Guard (24995)
1x Super Battle Droid (24996)
1x Grievous with Cape (20824)
1x Sandtrooper (20832)
1x Darth Vader (97580)
questions...
Wave 1 is the ESB wave, right? And if I remember correctly, it should show up around August?
I tried looking up Kneesaa. Was she even in ROTJ? Looks like she's from the cartoons.
Is it assumed that the Jedi Luke is a repack of the one that just came out?
Is it just me, or is the Sandtrooper coming out in every other wave? And is Vader now part of every wave? I know one of the Vaders coming out had the 2 piece helmet. I didn't buy it the first time (or two) around. Maybe I'll get it this time.

Re: star wars
Nobody's sure what's going on with Kneesa. She's on the rumor list, but Hasbro said in two different Q&A answers that they weren't doing any more Ewok 2-packs (only single Ewoks), and that any figures from the Ewoks cartoons were very unlikely. I'm hoping this is real (I'll shit gold bricks if it is), but I suspect it's faulty info.

Re: star wars
Wave 1 is indeed ESB, and should be here in August. Then it's ROTS, ROTJ, and AOTC. They're moving away from movie-themed waves, which is why there's a Sandtrooper coming with the ROTS wave, and so on.
The Jedi Luke is a retool of the most recent one that they said should address some of the wonky scale issues (they mentioned the huge chest, and hopefully they'll address the tiny waist as well).
Since these are just the case assortments, they include repacked figures from earlier waves, like Vader and the Sandtrooper. Vader is the three-piece helmet version, modified from the two-piece helmet one that came out in 2008; he'll be on the ESB card. The Sandtrooper appears to be the one from the Walmart Dewback, and will of course be on an ANH card.

Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

Re: star wars
Thanks for the details. I'll probably get that Vader on the Vintage card. I just checked my box 'o carded VOTC figures and I don't have one. Yes, I'm a sucker for the vintage cards. Hopefully the current $4.50-$5 prices at Target/Walmart stick around for a while. Too bad there isn't anything on the pegs that I want.
Besides the Vader figure on vintage card, Wedge, the Gammorean Guard, and the Rebel Commando are the figures I'm looking forward to getting. Wicked is needed since the POTF2 version looks silly compared to the other recent Ewoks. I guess Ackbar was due for a resculpt, too. Before I quit the other site, I think there was a thread about annual figure line-ups and I had him with his chair on my list. I'm sure Woof is fine and I'll probably get him, but I can't remember who he is and don't feel like looking him up. Off the top of my head, I'm pretty positive he's one of the wequays.

That's Wooof. He was released as Klaatu in the vintage days, so it's yet another vintage update, one of the last few remaining. They had him planned in the 2009 ROTJ wave but he was bumped in favor of Giran, who's of the same species.

Oh yeah, that guy.
There are some Clone Wars battlepacks and Force Unleashed 3 packs showing up at Ross/Marshalls/TJ Maxx. The Force Unleashed have either the Emperor or Darth Vader with some non-traditional colored stormtroopers.

Who is left? I haven't bought a figure since ROTS came out and I was bugging them to finish the 'originals' a dozen years ago (Senor JabbaJohnL wrote:[img]

Re: star wars
I've noticed Wedge's X-Wing showing up again at Target. In large numbers. In fact, an employee put twelve on an endcap at a Target while I was there today. The endcap had a huge "Clearance" sign at the top. I picked up an X-Wing and scanned it. It was not on clearance.
Given how supermassive that package is, I think they're going for a record for the longest time they can go without clearing out a very large exclusive.

Re: star wars
I saw about four put out again today. I mentioned this elsewhere, but the three Targets I've been to in the last few days are completely devoid of SW figures in all three varieties, but they still have deluxe, battle packs, vehicles, and so on. What gives? Isn't it a bit early for a reset? One I was at a few days ago was running extremely low, but still had the usual suspects, like Admiral Yularen, Kit Fisto, and a few others.

Re: star wars
And a different Target had about 40 X-Wings today.
For $12.48 each.
No intermittent markdown, just BAM! 75% off.
I got two. One for me (even though I don't care about the X-Wing itself) and one for Anarky Jr.

Re: star wars
Wow. One Target I was at had some of those X-Wings a couple weekends ago, but they were full price. Hadn't seen them anywhere else. The star wars pegs are pretty empty at Walmarts and Targets around there. TRU is still pretty full.

Re: star wars
$12.50, I figured, was a good deal for the two figures. Sorta like when Target marked the Python Conquest down to something like $4.50; I bought every one I could get just to army build the Python Patrol Viper. I've still got some planes I need to get rid of from that.

Re: star wars
And fate took me by the same Target yesterday, less than a day later. All the X-Wings were gone. They could've been sold, but I think that, since the endcap was completely reset, they'd been taken back, either to rot for a few more months before being put out again, or to be donated to Goodwill (as I've heard Target likes to do with clearance items rather than mark them down further than 75% off).
BTW, I have no idea what I "need" and don't from the upcoming Vintage line. I figure probably Hoth Leia, Echo Base Han, Dack, Twin Pod Cloud Car Pilot, AT-AT Commander, and maybe (but probably not) Bespin Luke. The mix of new, re-release, and slightly tweaked figures is confusing. I imagine Hasbro is partly counting on people not being entirely sure what's new (even though no company would ever admit that to their customers). Also I'll get the Cloud Car, maybe the Snowspeeder, and likely leave the AT-AT unless it drops to $50 or less.
Dengar isn't new, is he? I don't remember. I'd hate to pass on a new Dengar, though.
